ISMTII / ICOIM 2025 International Conference concluded successfully in Wuhan

From May 25 to 28, 2025, the 16th International Symposium on Measurement Technology and Intelligent Instruments and the 3rd International Conference on Optical Imaging and Measurement (ISMTII / ICOIM 2025) was successfully held at the International Conference Center of Wuhan East Lake Hotel, initiated by the International Committee on Measurement and Instrumentation (ICMI), hosted by Huazhong University of Science and Technology, undertaken by the School of Mechanical Science and Engineering and the National Key Laboratory of Intelligent Manufacturing Equipment and Technology of Huazhong University of Science and Technology, and co-organized by the Integrated Circuit Measurement and Instrumentation Branch of the Chinese Instrument and Meter Society, Xi'an Jiaotong University, Hubei Optics Valley Laboratory, Hubei Instrument and Meter Society, Zhejiang University Hangzhou International Science and Technology Innovation Center and many other units. As an important academic event supported by the Chinese Instrument and Meter Society, this conference attracted more than 230 experts, scholars and industry elites from 7 countries around the world to discuss the latest research results and future trends in the fields of nano-measurement, optical imaging, precision metrology and instruments.

The opening ceremony of the conference was hosted by Liu Shiyuan, chairman of the conference, chairman of the IC Measurement and Instrumentation Branch of the Chinese Instrument and Meter Society, and professor of Huazhong University of Science and Technology. Professor Wen Jinyu, assistant to the president of Huazhong University of Science and Technology, delivered a welcome speech on behalf of the organizer. Then, the "In Memory of Prof. LI Zhu" session was arranged. ICMI Secretary-General Professor Gao Yongsheng, Academician Tan Jiubin, Professor Huang Wenhao, and Academician Jiang Xiangqian delivered speeches in succession, jointly commemorating the outstanding contributions of Professor Li Zhu of Huazhong University of Science and Technology in initiating ISMTII in Wuhan 36 years ago, founding ICMI, and promoting the development of measurement instrument disciplines.

This conference has a strong academic atmosphere and many highlights. The conference specially invited six internationally renowned experts to give plenary reports, including Academician Jiang Xiangqian of the University of Huddersfield, UK, Academician Fang Fengzhou of Tianjin University/University Dublin, Ireland, Academician Gu Min of Shanghai University of Technology, Academician Gao Wei of Tohoku University, Japan, Professor Satoru Takahashi of the University of Tokyo, Japan, and Professor Young-Jin Kim of the Korea Industrial Technology Research Institute. The conference also set up six sub-venues, covering 17 topics, with a total of 142 reports, including 17 special reports, 53 invited reports, and 72 oral reports. Report experts and students shared cutting-edge research results and innovative insights in their respective research fields.

As the organizer, the School of Mechanical Science and Engineering of Huazhong University of Science and Technology has maintained long-term cooperation with the Chinese Instrument Society and has achieved remarkable results in the construction of an international platform. The successful holding of this conference further strengthened the role of the society as a link in promoting international academic exchanges and promoting the integration of industry, academia and research. We look forward to continuing to integrate industry resources and gather innovative forces in the future to promote the high-quality development of my country's instrument industry.
